In Memory Of John: A Watercolor Portraiture
Original Watercolor Portrait Painting
Size: 12 x 16 inches
Medium:
Watercolor painting on watercolor paper
Portrait painting with Watercolor has many unique quality when compared to other painting mediums, such as oil, acrylic painting. Most artists have the impression that watercolour is too difficult to control and render for significant subject matter, like portrait of people, for instant. When I painted this portrait commission, I was going through the similar process as I would do the portrait painting in oil. This portrait painting, after the drawing study and color study exercise, it took about a week to complete the final painting. A local television station produced a program during my exhibition in New Hampshire and this painting was a part of the program. Click here to watch the video and learn more about the "stories behind my paintings".
