Jialing Guo's watercolor learning experience:
Watercolor, I think it should be working with water of course. Water will affect the color’s brightness and darkness. Also, watercolor seems very easy to be dried to me. You will have to keep it in a good way in order to protect it from getting bad. What I like about watercolor is you can mix two or three or even more colors to get another color. I think that is very interesting about watercolor because you can not do that to markers. I am sure I will learn a lot about watercolor during this semester. I am looking forward to it.

I used watercolor in high school to draw pictures from magazines. I think I’m kind of good at “copying”. I was proud of my works at that time. I can’t say I have done a lot with watercolor because I am just not an art person.

I do not know much about watercolor, but I do like paintings. My personal favorite is portrait paintings. I think every painting has a story behind it. The latest drawing I did was in high school, which was in 2005. I haven’t draw for years. I don’t think I am talented in art. But I do think I am interested in it. I was told that painting could affect a person’s personality. It calms you. When you are with an artist, you feel yourself more creative and the world is more colorful.
