Haipeng Xu's watercolor learning experience:
There are several important parts in the water color. They are organizing the picture, making color by red, yellow and blue, erasing the color, paying attention to the light and shadow in the picture and so on.

When we start to make a picture, we have to know how to settle all things we want to express. We have to make a decision where you are and where the object is, so that we can arrange them by the linear. In order to make them more reasonable and proper, we have to draw them by pencil at the first. The ration, the direction and the size should be expressed proper. Usually, we have to measure them by ruler so that we can draw them correctly.

Before painting the picture, we have to determine which color is better and how to make these colors by yellow, red, and blue. Yellow and red can form orange. Red and blue can form purple. Yellow and blue can form green. Red mixing with yellow and blue can form grey. After making the color, we have to determine how to adjust the color from dark to light by add water. If we want to change the color or want to lighter the color, we have to brush more water in the picture to light it. If we want to erase the color, we should brush more water on the color and absorb the water by dry brush.

One of the most important things in our mind should be how to express light and shadow properly. When we put the color on the picture, we have to pay a lot of attention to the light. Where the light comes from and where should be under the shadow, where should be shined. By the way, we can express the work more vertical but not flat.
