Michaela Smith's watercolor learning experience:
Red, yellow and blue are the colors that I never thought would allow me to have as much fun as I am in this class. When I decided to take this watercolor class I knew that I would enjoy it, but I didn't think that I would be learning as much as I am and having this much pleasure and enjoyment. From the very beginning I have learned so many things and everyday that leave the classroom I feel that I have walked out there with new techniques, ideas, helpful criticism and pictures that I never thought I could ever do.

Having these new techniques taught to us is a great thing for me as I came to this class not knowing anything about painting with any form of paint. I have never taken any courses in painting or even drawing, thus being able paint, learn how to remove painting and make it darker or lighter as we learn the different values of one color, is very exciting for me.

Also, having new ideas given to us about our paintings how we could fix it and add to it, is very helpful and insightful for not only myself but, everyone in the class. While we have our critique on our pictures I always feel that I know I can do better, but I just don't know how and I know that when my picture get it's critique I will be able to fix it and make it better by the helpful critique.

Thus, painting all of these pictures so far, I have had so much fun and enjoyed every bit of it. I am learning so much more that I thought I am painting pictures that I want to do. I feel that I have come along way since I first started this semester, and I am hoping to get much better, even though I know that I will never be a Monet or Picasso.
