Yoon oh Park's watercolor learning experience:
Now, I am learning about water color, working on current project "Using 1 color drawing". Professor demonstrated this project with diverse water color technique. We can create whatever color what we want by using amount of water. Following professor's instruction, I'm trying to get learn how to adjust water and make proper color.
Simply, more water and less water differently work for changes of color and paper. By focusing on basic technique, adjusting value and tone with certain amount of water, we practice how we operate, control, the color and painting as we want.
Water color paper holds and absorbs a little bit of water, after water and color segment dry, the color we see on the paper become darker than the color we paint and see it at first.
Commonly, people think water color is difficult because it seems hard to correct and change the color that we already painted. However, just putting some water enables us to fix and get rid of the color. Get out of segment put water and dry brush.
Another important think is describing distant, correct perspective representation, for example, proper length of the shadow or its volume, color level. For that we need to observe subject very well and analyze, think and depict it properly. It is difficult to express only what really see because we already have own idea about the subject in our mind. People easily make mistakes, for we see the subject and think that it supposed to look like what we judge. Stereotype. Typical feature we have affects it, too.
