Kwan Wong Cheung's watercolor learning experience:
I love to paint. I chose flowers to paint because I love flowers. I saw so many flowers in my life. When I was young, I saw many different flowers in the vase at my living room because my mother loved flowers. I took so many pictures with the flowers. When I grew up, and I always went with my mother to see flowers show every year. We saw a lot of flowers that came from different countries of the world. Flower could represent a good image of happiness.

Water color painting, it is the only subject that I do not have any pressure on studying. Art doesn’t have much guide line to define good or bad. Therefore, I am not worry about my grade. I can choose any objects to draw and paint. No matter it is good or bad, I think my painting is perfect, and I am enjoying the whole processing from a white sheet of paper then become a picture of art.

In the past few weeks learning, I learned how to control the brushes, lifting off the color, organize the picture, observe where the light come from, and adjust the tone of color. Of course, I saw a lot of demonstrations, for example wash, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and correcting techniques.

Most of time when I was working with my painting, the time was running very fast. How many hours did I need to spend on one painting? Honestly, I spent over 10 hours, mostly I spent 16 hours. I was enjoying each processing step. I felt relaxing, and because of this feeling, I will continue to draw and paint in my life.
