Watercolor painting by

TsuiLi Teng's watercolor learning experience:
I am a mother of an one year and 5 months old little girl. Looking at my little girl growing day by day, I wonder myself what else can I teach her other than our tongue language? My friend Cathy then recommended this course to me. She told me we can play colors with our kids and it’s not only broaden our horizon but also help get parents-child more close to each other. She took this course with Professor Chen last semester and had a lot of fun in water painting. I was so impressed when she first showed me her work. That was a three quarters apple; one part of it had been cut off. It looked to me was very nicely done especially I known her like me; is a non-experienced painter. Viewing my friend’s work had largely encouraged me to try water painting out, I decided to sign up this class and see how far I would go.
At the first class, Professor Chen showed us some of his previous students’ works including some non-experienced. This makes me feel more comfortable and have more confident to enjoy doing water paint. By now, I have learned some water painting skills like flat wash, graded wash, back run, glazed wash and lifting. Now when my daughter takes nap in the afternoon, I would fix myself a cup of tea and enjoy my private water painting time. Though I don’t have any painting or drawing experience prior to this class; but hopefully at the end of this course, I would have same joyfulness to share with my friends and family.
