Brandy Kmetz's watercolor learning experience:
I have actually enjoyed this project very much. I had no problem finding pre-made watercolor paper cards at Blink. The price was reasonable too. I paid a little over $5.00 for ten cards. I feel this will save me a lot of time from cutting and creating the size and searching for envelopes. It was very easy.
I forgot to create a boarder for my first card that a created, but I feel it turned out great. The other cards, I was able to tape with masking tape, however, I had to discard on of the cards cause the tape started leaking and when I pulled it up some of the paper was taken off. I have since been focused more on keeping the boarders clear of pooled water and I pull the tape from the inside off first.
I have seen that I am improving which is exciting. I have learned techniques that have made the effort less frustrating. I have enjoyed experimenting with using water and colors, mixing them and applying them. I have really learned a lot from this process and enjoy watercolor more than I thought I would. It a a very versatile medium.
I found one of my pictures in a watercolor book, and the other I have found winter scene photos from the web. I am really excited about a couple of the photos and I can't wait to send them to my family and friends. I will be painting lots of Christmas gifts this year, but I think everyone will enjoy them.
