Karen Hunt's watercolor learning experience:
How do I see myself as an artist? First I'm definitely a beginner. I have not had any art classes other than this since I was a child. I do enjoy drawing and will doodle when I'm on the phone. Since taking this class I found that I like the greeting cards the best. I finally feel that I'm relaxed enough to take the time to do the drawing first. Then when your ready to paint you have a plan. What I like to paint are animals and people. I drew two penguins for my friend Sharon and a cat for my friend AnnaMarie who I work with. I also enjoy receiving cards in the mail so my family and friends should like my cards since they were made from the heart.

Who would use my pictures? The Humane Society sends out calendars of animals consisting of cats and dogs every year. Also the Animal Rescue League of Boston, sends out a calendar and note paper with animals on it. I love reading and sending cards, I also enjoy writing. Maybe I could do the writing and someone else could do the painting.

If I were to continue I would have to take more classes someday. I would like to take an oil painting class. What I really want to do is just paint for fun. I want to take a water color class with Rita and just paint without receiving a grade. I have learned a lot from your class and I have enjoyed myself.
