Doan Thien Huy Hung's watercolor learning experience:
Creating one or some pieces of art is my desire that appear when I was nine years old. I tried to draw and paint many pictures from my dad's photographs. But they looked terrible.
Moreover, when I had an art class in school, my grade was really bad. All of those are because of my lack of skills or talents, and from there on, I got faraway from painting. But when I come to Bunker Hill community college and attended a water color class, I think I am slowly getting back my love with art. Professor Yong Chen, first day in class, gave introduction about his life, show primary painting skills and tools. After that, I believe in myself that I can paint some pieces of art, maybe good pieces, if I try harder. And then, the next two days, he taught us some other basic of water color skills that can help us do most of the painting we want. The main point is my love for painting is growing slowly now in this class and when I do sketching at home. I think I will spend more time in this class, not only to improve my grade, but also to prove how hard I try in painting to everyone, including my professor.
