Weiji Feng's watercolor learning experience:
This week in class, classmates brought their water color paintings into our painting show. Some classmates painted some paintings in faces. Some classmates painted paintings from natural such as sunset in beach, birds on the tree, roses, and so on. In class, classmates introduced all own paintings’ good parts and bad parts. Also they checked out what part of technique needs to be improved in paintings. According to their words and discussing, the main part is how to use bright color and not-bright color, warm and cool, dark and light, wet and dry in the paintings. For example, some paintings used one color from dark to light, but dark was not enough and light was not lighter to compare the dark. Some paintings’ color too light, it does not show painting’s layers clear. From teacher’s recommendations, for example, if the color is not enough light, we use the wet brush with water putting in the light part, and then dry the brush to take out the extra color. If the part of the painting needs more dark color, color will be mixed darker than before, and then put on that part to show layers… From teacher’s teaching, we learned more and more painting’s technique in watercolor painting. Therefore, our painting’s improving of technique will be in our paintings.
