Watercolor Lesson: Painting a Yellow Apple

Drawing and Planning
The first step is always the planning. It is the time to plan where you are going to place the object (or objects if there are more than one object in the painting), where is the light coming from, where is the shadow, where is the highlight.

After some practice, you can do all above planning in your head, then directly paint to the paper with your brush. But for most artists, we can use a pencil to draw our thoughts.

Do not rush to the next step. It is a very important stage for the success of the final painting. If you are not sure of any thing, stop, and think. After all, it is much easier to change to the light pencil marks then change to the painting.

After you finish this step, and have all the answers for the above questions. Then click on the next link to proceed.
