Children's Book Council
The Children's Book Council (CBC) is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to encouraging literacy and the use and enjoyment of children's books, and is the official sponsor of Young People's Poetry Week and Children's Book Week each year. The Council's Members include U.S. publishers and packagers of trade books for children and young adults.

Melissa Milich
Melissa Milich is a newspaper columnist and a writer for Tracy Kulich:Assignment Bosnia, a documentary in comic book form. Miz Fannie Mae's Fine New Easter Hat is partially based on a true story about Fannie Mae and Hamond Smith, the parents of Ida Mae Sydnor, the author's adopted godmother. Hamond Smith used to show off his wifes' Easter hat every year before church, just like in this story.

Twig C. George
Twig grew up in a family of naturalists. Her mother, Jean Craighead George, has written over one hundred children's books and pioneered the genre of scientific literature for children. Twig is the author of Swimming with Sharks which I illustrated and published by HarperCollins Publishers in 1999.

Children's Literature Navigator
Launched on April 27, 2001. The Children's Literature Navigator (CLN) is a compilation of Internet resources for librarians, parents, teachers, caregivers, and children. As of April 2004 CLN has grown to nearly 1000 links!

Picturing Books
Picturing Books is a nonprofit website created in 1999. Picturing Books was developed and is maintained by Denise I. Matulka. Denise has a B.A. in English and Children's Literature from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a M.S. in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
